Trading Video e-Mini Futures for April 5, 2007

Good morning.  As promised, here is the latest video for trading done this very session.  In this video we will cover the Russell e-Mini futures - perhaps the most popular market to trade in the futures with the UTM strategy.  We also can trade the S&P, Dow, Nasdaq and the Dax futures in addition.  Plenty of options every trading session.  Today was a very quiet session ahead of the three day holiday weekend but the strategy still did what we asked and gave us a couple of profitable trades.  We were able to finish early as well.  Trading days do vary, not every session is going to work out as smoothly as today - losing trades come with the territory but you'll always have a very specific strategy on how to handle both the winners AND the losers.  We leave nothing out - specific targets and exact stops.  In addition, we provide you with money management techniques that are designed to capitalize on the good days and control the days that don't cooperate as much.  Enjoy today's video:

S&P e-Mini Profits 14 Days out of Last 16

We can trade a variety of markets with the UTM strategy.  The S&P e-Mini futures is another one of those markets.  You learn the strategy, follow the rules and know where to enter and exit.  We've been on a strong streak over the last three weeks trading the S&P and you can see from the chart below, showing today's trades, that the positive trading run has continued for another day.  These entries are exactly where the rules show us to get in, and we always have exact targets and stops on every trade so you will always know how to manage a trade once onboard.

Trading the S&P e-Mini and the Forex with the UTM Today

Today's video covers trading two of the more poular markets for active traders -- the S&P e-Mini futures and the GBPUSD forex currency pair.  We utilize the UTM strategy as taught and get exact entries and exits and we'll show you how it fared in today's most recent trading session.  You'll be able to see how we minimize the time spent trading each day and focus on providing exact trading rules to specify where we should enter and of course, as important, where we need to exit.  It was a good day for both the S&P and the forex today as you'll soon see.

Overall a very good outcome for all the markets.  Along the way there were the bad trading days, even the occasional losing week but that's the nature of trading.  Mix a little frustration with the elation and you still can end up with a strong final total.

 

Forex Trading

We averaged 3+ trades per day for the month of December so plenty of activity.  Between the 2 timeframes and the events there are trades on a daily basis.  The timeframe trading continued to be consistent and with the implementation of our 10 minute filter for the event trades we saw definite improvement in our win/loss ratio on those trades - less chance of whipsaw which has been a positive improvement to the bottom-line.

 

Using a 5 pip spread cost for the GBPUSD we had about 290 pips of performance in December.  Between different brokers of course you will have some variance trade to trade but it should typically balance out.  We assumed exiting half the trade at the fixed/projection target and trailing the second half.  In addition, if your spread cost is less, lets say 4 pips you would add approx. 60+ pips to your bottom-line - we wanted to use worst case.

Today we have a video showing you how the UTM can be traded with the Dow e-Mini.  By now you are seeing how robust this trading strategy can be as you are now seeing it trade across multiple forex markets and futures markets.  Learning the strategy and then applying it to other markets keeps you diversified and provides you with additional trading opportunities.  The fact that the same basic system can be utilized across a number of markets demonstrates that the UTM strategy has the consistency many look for.  This video will show you the last three sessions trading the Dow e-Mini futures with a focus on getting in and getting done each day, not staying around and having to trade an entire session.

Latest e-Mini Results 10/23/06

UTM Webcast Crashes GoToWebinar Servers

With over 3,000 people registered for the live webinar today and only 1,000 available slots we ended up crashing their webinar server due to all the demand.  We couldn't believe it ourselves (and we weren't thrilled about it) but with everyone trying to get into the webcast at the same time, we brought down the servers.   

However, we were able to give the full presentation via the conference call on the phone and we have recorded that entire call.  We plan on publishing a recorded version of the call plus a video tomorrow right here in the blog.

Calling into Webinar Suggestions...

For those of you in the U.S. and Canada you can use a service called "Skype" to call any phone number in the U.S. or Canada for free.  This way you can call into the webinar free.  Skype also has versions for a number of other countries -- you'll need to check what their limitations are to calling a regular U.S. phone number.  There are probably other services as well.  We use telephone because it's the most reliable way to ensure the audio is the highest quality.  The video portion will be broadcast over your computer.

Forex Actual Trades - See Exact Executions

Hello. Today we wanted to show you two of our recent trades (from today and yesterday at the same "key" timeframe.)  You will see on this video how we took the trades and then we will show you the exact brokerage statements with the trades that were taken both entry and exit.  We trade our method daily and you will see real executions on the video today.  The forex markets typically have several opportunities for trade per day - we are very selective when we trade and only focus on what we feel are the best times of day to trade and leave the rest to everyone else.  We follow our strategy and rules and get mechanical entry times without discretion/subjectivity.

Trading is sometimes about streaks.  Certain market conditions can be very productive.  Over the last month we've been on quite a run in our trading - in particular on the e-Mini of late.  Attached is a chart of the last 18 trading days where we have one of these positive streaks going.  While you cannot expect this to be the norm, it does demonstrate the power of the methodology even during the time when the market isn't doing anything that would be deemed spectacular in range, volume or volatility.  Have a look:

Today we'll cover the forex markets.  We had a good mix today - both an "Event" based trade, and a "Time" based trade.  You'll see in this video how we carve out the day and can actually throw away 90% or more of the trading hours of the forex.  Rather than try to track and trade this 24 hour market we focus in on a precise time and trade only at that time.  It makes it much more manageable, far less time and effort and you still are trading when the markets typically are on the move which is what any active forex trader wants.  The video will show you how this all worked for us today on the EURUSD and GBPUSD. Hello.  Thanks for joining us here today. 

We've got a lot in store for you in the coming days.  We'll be taking you by the hand and introducing this most unique and powerful trading strategy.  With that power comes simplicity.  Our objective was to design a system that both produced but also was learnable, and without a significant time investment. 

We focus our trading at this time on the most active markets, and we choose to daytrade.  The Forex and the e-Mini futures.  Currently all the forex markets are available for us to trade, and on the e-Mini's we focus on the Russell and S&P with new trading now starting on the Dow and Nasdaq as well.  Soon we'll even be trading stocks and swing trading.  This method is very robust and can work with success across markets and timeframes.
